Job vacancy: Production & Demand Planner - Supply Chain
Are you strong in planning, do you enjoy working with data, and do you know how to perfectly align demand and production? For our client, we are looking for a Production & Demand Planner who maintains an overview of the entire planning process: from customer demand and inventory to production capacity and material availability.
In this role, you will be at the heart of the supply chain. You will analyse expected demand, translate it into a feasible production plan, and ensure that materials, capacity, and inventory are aligned accordingly.
You will work closely with sales, production, purchasing, and logistics, among others. Does customer demand change, does a shortage arise, or does production not go according to plan? You will identify this in time and adjust the planning accordingly.
A responsible role for someone who likes to look ahead, has strong analytical skills, and can easily switch between different departments.
What are you going to do?
As a Production & Demand Planner, you ensure that demand, inventory, and production are aligned as effectively as possible.
- You analyse sales data, forecasts, and developments in demand.
- You create production plans and update them daily.
- You translate expected customer demand into production requirements and the required capacity.
- You monitor whether sufficient raw materials and materials are available.
- You coordinate this with purchasing and other relevant departments.
- You analyse the available production capacity and identify potential bottlenecks.
- You monitor inventory levels and help prevent both shortages and unnecessary inventory.
- You monitor production progress on a daily basis and adjust the planning when necessary.
- You actively participate in the Sales & Operations Planning process (S&OP).
- You report on production performance, forecast accuracy, inventory trends, and other supply chain KPIs.
- You ensure that sales, production, purchasing, and logistics are informed in time about changes to the planning.
In short: you maintain an overview and ensure that everyone within the supply chain knows what needs to happen and when.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a planner with strong analytical skills, who thinks ahead and feels comfortable in a dynamic production environment.
- You have completed a higher professional education degree, for example in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a comparable field.
- You have approximately 2 to 4 years of relevant work experience in production planning, demand planning, or supply chain.
- You understand production processes, inventory management, and forecasting.
- You are strong in planning and can manage multiple priorities at the same time.
- You are analytical, accurate, and solution-oriented.
- You communicate easily with different departments.
- You can deal well with change and maintain an overview when planning is under pressure.
- You have a good knowledge of Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and working with data.
- You have experience with an ERP system, such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or a comparable system.
- You take initiative and identify opportunities to organise processes in a smarter and more efficient way.
