Floor Manager Cultural Centre, Winschoten | approx. 16 hours

Are you welcoming, able to maintain an overview when things get busy, and do you know how to manage people in a pleasant way? For a cultural centre in Winschoten, we are looking for a floor manager to start immediately for an average of 16 hours per week.

You will work in a special place where theatre, film, hospitality and other cultural activities come together. During performances and events, you are the person who ensures that everything runs smoothly on the floor. You manage colleagues and volunteers, maintain an overview and make sure that both visitors and artists feel welcome.

What are you going to do?

As a floor manager, you are responsible for front-of-house services during performances and events. You are visibly present, know what is happening and respond quickly when the situation requires it.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating front-of-house services during performances and events;
  • Managing and supporting hospitality staff and volunteers;
  • Preparing performances and events;
  • Ensuring that spaces, reception and visitor flows are well organised;
  • Maintaining a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere;
  • Identifying and resolving practical issues during events;
  • Coordinating with colleagues and other stakeholders within the cultural centre;
  • Contributing to and helping organise events.

One moment you discuss the schedule with the team, and the next you welcome artists or ensure that visitors are helped quickly. No two shifts are the same.

Who are we looking for?

You do not need years of experience in every area. For this role, we believe it is especially important that you are willing to take responsibility and enjoy working with people.

You are:

  • Welcoming and presentable;
  • Proactive and solution-oriented;
  • Able to manage people in a pleasant and clear manner;
  • Able to work well under pressure and maintain an overview;
  • Flexible and willing to work at varying times;
  • Someone with an eye for detail, atmosphere and the overall visitor experience.

As many performances and events take place outside office hours, you are available during evenings and weekends, and possibly on public holidays.

An affinity with theatre, events or culture is of course an advantage.

    What do we offer you?

    You will have a varied role with a great deal of responsibility and independence. You will work in a lively environment with colleagues and volunteers who work together to ensure a successful performance or event.

    You can expect:

    • A part-time position for an average of 16 hours per week;
    • A varied workplace in a cultural centre in Winschoten;
    • Plenty of contact with visitors, artists, colleagues and volunteers;
    • A role that brings together hospitality, organisation and leadership;
    • Terms of employment and salary in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Performing Arts Venues, appropriate to the role and your experience.
